Feeding a newborn is a learned skill, not automatic, and it's a lot easier to learn with someone beside you. Whether you're preparing for birth, home with a days-old baby, or planning your return to work, support is available in the form that fits your life: in your home, over video, or in a small group with other expecting families.
Prenatal Education - Group Classes
Small-group classes that cover what's actually coming: how labor unfolds, what the first hour after birth looks like, how milk comes in, and what a normal newborn does (and doesn't) do.
These classes are taught by a registered nurse and lactation consultant, in plain language, with time for your questions. Partners are welcome and encouraged.
In-Home Lactation Care
A full visit in your own home, in the chair you actually feed in. Together, we'll assess latch, positioning, milk transfer, and supply, check your baby's weight, and work through a clear, written plan you can use right away.
Every family arrives at a different point, whether that's before the baby is here, in the first hard week, or months in when work is around the corner. Visits are set up to meet you where you are:
Initial consultation (~90 min): full feeding assessment, weighted feed, and a care plan built together.
Follow-up visit (~60 min): adjust the plan as your baby grows and feeding changes.
Prenatal lactation visit: get ahead of it before birth, especially helpful if you've had a difficult feeding experience, breast surgery, or a medical concern.
Pumping & back-to-work/daycare support: pump fitting and settings, building a freezer stash without oversupply, milk storage, caregiver bottle-feeding, and protecting your supply while you are away from your baby, plus knowing your rights before you go back.

Virtual Consultations
Support from wherever you are, without anyone needing to leave the house. Over a secure video call, we'll look at latch and positioning together, talk through what you're seeing at feeds, and adjust your plan as needed.
Virtual visits work well for quick questions, follow-ups after an in-home visit, and families outside the Tri-Valley in-home service area.
